How Internet Is Beginning To Change Education
Friday, December 16th, 2011Due to the internet, education as you may know it was changed forever. A recent survey declared that of all college students enrolled in classes, 1 in 4 had at least 1 online course. The economy and environment are better off when people take online classes. Books, gas, and high tuition prices are just a few of the things you can avoid when you take your classes online. According to Bill Gates, the best quality lectures and keynotes will be available to anyone on the internet within five years, making it so that people don’t need to spend a ton of money to go to a high-quality university.
Going together with what he said, Bill Gates helps fund Khan Academy, which permits anyone on the planet to acquire a “free world-class education.” From basic trigonometry to the binomial theorem, the Khan Academy has about 2,100 instructional videos for anyone willing to learn. Those who have enough time and desire to gain more knowledge are able to use the internet to obtain a quality education. Instead of paying for a poor child to go to school, all we need to do is provide them with computers and access to the internet and they will instantly be opened to a world of information. The internet is a fantastic thing, for the reason that in can really help change people’s lives for the better although there are many bad parts, it is typically an enormous positive impact on society. There is also school funding programs available for college kids and minorities. One example is, they have African American scholarships that will help them finance their educational requirements.
The internet gives anyone the opportunity of becoming anything they want, financial resources are becoming less important in comparison to online influence and skills. People no longer need to leave their houses to attend a college or library since all of that same information is found from other laptop. For this reason giving poorer children in 3rd world countries internet access has become very important. Eventually everyone will have the ability to get a quality education for almost no cost. In early American colonial times, the only individuals who could get an excellent education were people who had lots of money and power. A lot has changed since then.
Together with the internet, tablets also are drastically changing the way we learn. As an alternative to big bulky textbooks students now have interactive ebooks that allow them to watch videos, play games and listen to audio clips. Instead of dealing with papers and broken pencils, students now have the ability to write, edit and send their assignments all wirelessly. In the past 10 years, education has changed more than during the entire 20th century. Unfortunately not enough people are taking advantage of this. Everyone who may have internet access is able to use these tools although not enough people are aware of them.
Education possesses a bright future, same as people that are able to utilize the changes that are going on. Each day everyone has increasingly more access to learning tools which can help them gain more knowledge. Sadly, the opportunities that many people have in education aren’t being taken advantage of. Classes online unquestionably are the future of education, not just because they’re environmentally and economically friendly but also since they give their students flexibility.
